CPT tubes, casing tubes and friction reducers

Geomil Equipment manufactures a large variety of high quality Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) tubes, casing tubes and friction reducers.
Efficient, reliable and safe CPT’s require not only the most advanced probes and acquisition systems but also high quality pushing equipment. Durable tubes are necessary to safeguard the valuable equipment and to allow operators to reach the best possible thrust force and thus penetration depth. By selecting the original Geomil tubes, the risks of equipment loss are greatly reduced.
In addition to the regular CPT tubes Geomil supplies a range of protective casing tubes, friction reducers in various shapes and sizes, and crossovers to allow users to apply various cones. Inner rods are available for conventional mechanical CPT.
The CPT tubes have a standardized OD of 36 mm with an ID of 16 mm, whereas casing tubes come with an OD of 55 mm and an ID of 39 mm.
The steel grade for all tubes is carefully selected to provide the highest and most consistent quality while achieving the tightest possible tolerances. Needless to say the tubes comply with the latest ISO and ASTM standards.
CPT tubes can be supplied with classic Standard (STD) and Heavy (HVY) tapered threads, or with the latest Speedlock (SPL) thread. Breaking tests have shown that Geomil’s Speedlock thread is approx. 20% stronger than conventional screw threads. In addition, Speedlock threads only need 2.5 turns to lock or open which drastically reduces the physical strain for operators whilst improving production rates.
For offshore testing 2 m long CPT tubes have been developed, to reduce the number of breaking points and enhance efficiency. Custom-made casing tubes with spacers can be manufactured to accommodate larger standpipes/drill casing for nearshore operations. We are also able to supply OD 44 mm CPT tubes as well as tubes with various lengths and diameters or made of special materials like stainless steel or nonmagnetic steel alloys.
