Marlin-120 Seabed template

The Geomil Equipment Marlin-120 is a fully integrated seabed template designed to support offshore drilling operations. The heart of the system is a ridged clamp with a capacity of up to 25 t.
The Marlin design is part of Geomil’s modular approach and therefore compatible with standard umbilical and winch setup, skirts, and ballast. This leads to significant cost savings when combined with other systems, or to redundancy when doubled.
Marlin-120 features:
• Ensuring a stable seabed template for drilling operations and downhole testing/sampling (Geomil’s Orca system).
• Providing reaction force on the drill string.
• Accommodating reentry for drill pipes.
• Eliminating environmental influences providing higher quality sampling.
• The unit fits in a standard 20 ft sea container.

A standard Marlin-120 package consists of:
• Marlin-120 base frame with integrated power pack and hydraulic clamp.
• Hoist frame.
• Constant tension (CT) winch with power and communication umbilical.
• Utility Guide Frame (UGF).
• Surface control unit.
• Skirt.
• Ballast.

Optional supporting items:
• Seabed feeder to control drill string and eliminate environmental influences while drilling.
• Additional stationary clamp for the above option.
• Shear ram.
• Leveling Frame XY-20.

The seabed feeder provides significant advantages towards the drilling operations and especially to the quality of sampling. The optional system is targeted at improving the complete operation, specially designed to bring cost benefits and minimize environmental impact whilst drilling.
